YOU GUYS! I'm heading to Nicaragua and I'll have a day to explore Granada and try all the weird foods I can find! Any tips on where I can find maggot cheese (casu marzu - and yes, I'm totally serious about this) and the best iguana eggs, tripe soup (mondongo) and soured milk (leche agria)?
It's such a beautiful city. You'll love it. Head to the main square and hit up some of the food carts. The weirdest Granada-local food I tried was: Vigoron of chicharron (fried pig skin), yucca and a cabbage salad.
