Driving from Gold Coast to Melbourne

Can anyone suggest a route to take for my road trip? I'm driving from Southport QLD to Warrandyte Vic. I'm not being a tourist, I'm just moving down there. I do not want to drive through Sydney and I'd like to find air bnbs to stay at.
