Where would be a nice place to visit outside of Geneva in December?

We will be in Geneva, Switzerland  visiting my son in December. Wondering where would be a nice side trip to go over Christmas? We will have 7 days to spend as a family of 4 adults. Thank you!!

Annecy in France is a delightful destination. It is a small city on Lake Annecy with a historic old town, good restaurants, and nice places to stay. As I recall, it is only about a 40 minute drive from Geneva. Annecy is sometimes called 'the Venice of France' because of its canals. YouTube has some short introductory videos

During all of December, Annecy offers visitors fairy lights, animations for every one, concerts, cribs, Christmas markets, a skating rink, a little train to visit all the places easily...

  1. Annecy (attraction)

Rent a small chalet or apartment in the mountains. Villars-Sainte-Croix or Verbier. Or less expensive, Champery, Morgins, Haute-Nendaz. Or pull out the stops and choose Gstaad. Or go French side at Megeve or Chamonix. Lucky you, the possibilities are endless!
