My 5th year wedding anniversary is in January 2016. I am thinking of taking my wife to Europe. She loves snow but hates skiing, never been to Paris or Italy. I want to give her a great time in a very romantic way. Any suggestions???
January is "off season" for these cities (as they will be crowded during the holidays-especially Paris), so you won't find lines in museums etc.
As for the romantic...you can't go wrong with Paris, just keep in mind that it is more expensive than Rome.
I have some tips about Paris right here: http://aspectsofstyle.com/2014/03/12/a-quick-guide-to-paris/
And about Rome here:
I love Venice in the winter and it is a very romantic city. You might not see snow and it could rain but it will be relatively tourist-free, crisp, cold and lovely. As an alternative I suggest Vienna Prague or Bergamo all very romantic in winter with a much greater chance of snow!
Have a lovely anniversary.
