15 days, 1st time to Europe - itinerary help

I'm traveling from India, and the main place is France where I wanna spend the most. Suggest some places in France other than the favorites.

Spain and Italy the best choice or is there any other country?

Suggest me an itinerary for 15 days keeping in mind that France is priority.

Amsterdam, London, Paris, Florence and Rome are a must!

I would also include Berlin and Barcelona/Madrid.

If you are flexible on the other destinations and want to experience more than just Western Europe, I would also include Budapest (Hungary) and Krakow (Poland). You would only need 2 full days in each of these places.

Try this: Amsterdam (fly to) London(train to) Paris (fly to)Berlin (fly to) Krakow (fly to) Prague (fly to) Budapest (fly to)Rome (train to) Province of Florence.

Flying between your destinations is better for long distance. But for shorter trips, say under 4 hours on a train, then trains are the best way to go, I think, since they will allow you time to sit and relax between destinations. Or try to get overnight trains when you can.

Here are some tips on what to expect, what to see and do, opening times, transport options, etc.

Have lots of fun!

Hi Krishna,

What do you like to do? How will you travel? Luckily France has a very good rail system so, assuming that you will fly from India to Paris, you can travel by train to lots of places. These are some of my favourites:

Auvergne region is mountainous, great for hiking, gliding and hot air ballooning. It is also really beautiful and has volcanos to explore. take a train from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand from Gare Bercy. In that general area Limoges is worth a visit.I really like the Provence-Alpes-Côte D'Azur area too.

If you have a car the drive from Nimes through Ales and Uzes up to Barjac is lovely. Carcassonne and Île de Ré and the surrounding areas are also very pretty and very French.

Closer to Paris the Loire region is great with fab towns like Saumur Tours and Blois and the amazing Château de Chambord

If you want to also visit part of Italy (and your rental car co. allows you to cross the border) the drive between Nice and Genoa is legendary!

Have a great trip. France is a really beautiful country.

Brussels Belgium is one of my favorite cities.  Great food choices and lots of great old bars with the best beer choices in the world.  Annecy, France is a great alternative choice for France.  Great food and very beautiful with great places to stay.
