Trying to plan a trip to England to see the British countryside with my mom and grandma. Hoping for a 4-5 day trip and was thinking of going to the Cotswolds area. We have all been to London and are hoping to avoid big cities this time around. Is there enough to do for 4-5 days in/around the Cotswolds? Is that the best place to go to see the quintessential British villages? I am trying to figure out the best town/village to stay in that is centrally located as we most likely won't be renting a car. Any advice on where to stay/things to do/places to see would be greatly appreciated! Our budget will probably be somewhere between $200-$300/night. Thanks!!
Hi, 4-5 days will be ideal as there is so much to see. The popular places to visit are Broadway (England), Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Chipping Campden, Blenheim Palace. Each of those has lovely Cotswold charm. Hotels in each but my recommendation would be Cotswold House Hotel in Chipping Camden, Old Stocks Hotel in Stow, The Dial House Hotel in Bourton or perhaps the Wheatsheaf Inn Northleach. Plenty to see, Stow is fairly central to everything but its a bit busier than the others. Worth a visit to Lower Slaughter too, beautiful. Enjoy!
