I'm planning to drive from Kiev to Istanbul this summer, along the Black Sea. I was just wondering if anyone has expierences with this trip. I've read some things about bad roads, and maybe some chances for problems along the borders? The plan was to first go to Odessa, from there to Romenia (avoiding Moldova), Bulgaria and then Turkey. All tips/experiences/ideas are welcome! We will be travelling as two young females, so problems/ideas around that topic also welcome!
Thanks allready :-)
For Bulgaria: some parts of the roads might be bad, with potholes or under construction, so plan your time (distance/40-50 km/hour=travel time). The roads along the Black Sea coast are bending ( some almost 90 degree angle), be careful near the town of Obzor and Holiday Village (it is right after Sozopol). Every year there are bad car crashes there due to low visibility and high speed. In late July and August the traffic along the Black Sea coast is heavy. Have a wonderful journey!
