I'm passionate about period buildings and old places that have stories to tell. Do you know any authentic (well preserved) house in the centre of Dublin which provide accommodation? It can be an old inn, hotel, B&B ... as long as I can "spend a night in History"! Thanks a lot for your answers.
A really overlooked place is Kelly's Hotel which is based off of Georges street. It's on the top floor of an old Georgian building which has been converted into pubs and restaurants and allows easy access to the rest of the city. Check it out http://www.kellysdublin.com/
The Irish Landmark Trust maintains and lets period properties in Ireland. The only place they have in Dublin is a Georgian Townhouse in Temple Bar. Have a look here: http://www.irishlandmark.com/property/georgian-townhouse/
In terms of hotels, The Shelbourne Hotel and The Gresham Hotel would be fairly well restored and have a lot of history to them! Buswells Hotel would also be a good choice.
