With 12 trips to Irelandexperience (last in May, 2016)...we found GPS to be wonderful...especially since we've done it previously with guide books & paper maps.  If you have a companion - one of the cell phone  apps is great. Driving in the town (Dublin) can be a pain...we've found it easier to bus & or taxi.  Goggle maps are nice to plan ahead of time, giving you local sights, places to eat along the route, etc.  Have fun!

Both will give you route, route info, route alternatives and estimated driving times.
