Anyone have any recommendations for the best vantage points for photos of the Burj Khalifa. I'm particularly interested in locations other than what is listed in the tour books such as the fountain area, souk al bahar, dubai mall, etc.
Yes, get yourself to The Address and reserve a table at the poolside bar. Order drinks and enjoy the people watching. Then don your best duds and get upstairs to their nightclub and buy your way to a window table for the best nighttime views of the Burj. Fun to watch the expats and nationals mingle in a nighttime parade of riches.
At the hotel, The Address Downtown Dubai Down Town it has a public bar area which has a good vantage point for both the fountains and Burj Khalifa.

strange as it may sound, I took a couple of good ones from the Metro heading into town from Jumeriah Beach area! It's not easy to get the whole thing in one shot (as its so big!!) when you're too close to it
from the lakeside behind Dubai Mall and for the distance views is better from Jumeirah Beach Road and along Sheikh Zayed Road
