I see lots of "all inclusive" in the Dominican Republic. How are they and what are your experiences?
We stayed at Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa. Beautiful resort, but off the beaten path, and food made us sick. A bunch of our friends stayed at Hard Rock and really enjoyed themselves.

Emphasis on the word "inclusive". These resorts are great for being in your own bubble. You don't have to think. Constant entertainment, though at times cheesy, constant food, constant booze, lots of security and walls to protect you from the vibrant but "dangerous outside" 3rd or 2nd world country whose cheap labor rates the resort takes full of advantage of. You will not get the flavor of the country this way but you will be safe and have clean water.
