Depending on where you are staying. If you staying close to downtown, there is light rail and RTD, the local bus system. Taxis and Uber are also available.

Oh! There is also a free bus that runs up and down 16th St (major point of interest if you're visiting downtown Denver). 16th Street (or the 16th Street Mall) Is a pedestrian mall that is a fun place to stroll :)

You can hop on or hop off at any cross-street. And it's free!

  1. 16th St (attraction)
  2. 16th Street Mall (attraction)

Uber and Lyft are very accessible. I also recommend Car2Go (but you will need to sign up ahead of time) as a convenient way to drive yourself around while keeping costs low. Enjoy!

The light rail is great if it goes where you need to go!

Some of the hotels, like The Crawford at Union Station have car services that guests can utilize.

Taxis are iffy. In our experience they may or may not show up. Denver is NOT a great taxi city.

You can also rent a Denver B Cycle in lots of places downtown. We get a lot of sunshine, so this can be a good way to get around at any time of year.

It really depends on where you are trying to travel while in town!

Public transportation is decent but not as good as NY or DC etc. Best bet is Uber, Lyft or Car2Go for driving or BCycle for bikes that are located all over the city. All options are very cheap.

The light rail will take you south from downtown along I-25 (more or less).  Within downtown, you have the free bus along 16th Street Mall, several bus lines, and some "cable" cars.  Pretty easy to maneuver once you get to downtown from the airport.  And Uber is cheap, easy and plentiful!

Research the light rail in Denver.  Or a lot of people within the downtown area use Uber or Lyft on their smart phones.

Public transportation is getting better but has light years to go.  There is the SkyRide that will take you to downtown, Boulder, North & South of Denver.  It's exact cash $5 to $15.  If you go downtown there is lightrail (see below).  In the next year to two the light rail expansion will open and include DIA to downtown.

Once you are in Denver proper there are Bcyles

Denver Bikes | Denver Bike Sharing Program | B-Cycle ...

See the others for the Uber and Lyft stuff

Depending on where you're staying, and what you're looking to do, Denver is a really walkable city. There's so much to see and do just within the downtown-ish area!

There are bus lines available If you're looking to get out to the mountains. The Light Rail is easy, and I rarely have issues using Uber if I'm tired of walking :)

I've asked for and its service is great! They're always available, it's a safety option and not expensive.

Enjoy your trip!
