Hi. I'll be driving from Denver - Pagosa Springs - Crested Butte - Denver. Staying with friends in Pagosa Springs, and spending a few days in Crested Butte painting. Total time: 2 weeks.
Wondering if anyone could recommend interesting, quirky towns that I could do some paintings of. I particularly like dilapidated, ramshackle buildings and classic Americana like motels and hotels.
Any knowledge about artist communities would also be welcome.

Golden (Colorado) is a favorite place of mine. I would live there in a heart beat. I would take pictures of that Old Western, Coors Brewing town.
