Driving from Daytona FL -> Seattle WA mid July

My boyfriend and I will be flying into Daytona Beach and driving back across the USA with a 3/4 ton truck towing a 28' boat.  We have 10 days off work to do this, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances which delay us.  As of right now, we are planning on taking a diagonal route through the US, through Atlanta, Nashville.

Wondering if anyone has any input on a route to take?  North through Nebraska, SDakota, Montana, Idaho?  Or more west through Kansas, Colarado, Utah, Oregan and then north?  We will be doing this middle of July.

Also if anyone has any recommendations for neat things to see on the way, please let me know!

With a truck and trailer, I'd want to avoid cities and possibly also mountains.

The maps almost invariably take you through Atlanta which I prefer to avoid, but I can't think of a resonable way around it. After Atlanta, I would do Birmingham (Alabama), Memphis and Kansas City (Kansas), rather than Nashville, St. Louis. In Memphis you might be able to stay north of the city in Millington and leave the boat there and to into town to see Graceland or Beale Street. And I do think it would be better to go through South Dakota Badlands National Park rather than Nebraska. I suggest a visit to Yellowstone National Park, but not sure how that would work with a trailer as at that time of year the roads are basically gridlocked. Maybe you could leave the boat temporarily in Cody

I would definately do the South route and go North up the coast of Nevada, California, Oregon and finally Washington you won't be disappointed so much to see and if you love the ocean even better.
