Driving from Phoenix AZ to Dallas TX

Should i go via Albuquerque NM or from south(EL Paso)-travelling with family? Looking for ideas in terms of stops...i will take 3 days to drive(prefer not to drive more than 6 or 7 hours per day)...two overnight stays in the way...please provide your suggestions/recommendation.

I was thinking it this way:

Option #1

Start from home
reach in the night at Albuquerque NM 6hr. 20 minutes
then second night at Memphis TX 5hr. 18 minutes
Memphis TX to Irving TX 4 hours

Or

Option #2
Home to Deming NM(overnight stay) 5 hr. 14 minutes
Deming NM to Big Spring, TX 6hr. 30 minutes
Big Springs TX to Irving TX 4 hrs 10 minutes

My wife also can drive(but at one time - around 45 minutes or so...she doesn't like driving in the mountains).

Phoenix (Arizona) Dallas (Texas)

Most of the mountains will be in the first part of this drive east of Phoenix  You can divide the stops more evenly if you stop the first night at Las Cruces (386 miles), and then stop the second  night at Midland (Texas) (349 miles) to Dallas (330 miles).  Doing the option through Albuquerque seems to have more mountains, but the stops will be more equal distances if you stop before you get to Albuquerque at Grants (New Mexico) (345 miles) and then at Amarillo(360 miles) and then on to Dallas (366 miles)

Prefer Deming...as I am leaving home on that day...definitely will get late so want to keep less driving on first day...Las Cruces is 7 hours for me and Deming is around 5.5 hours...
