Hi All,
I'm thinking about maybe going to Cuba for a couple of weeks this December. I know it's still fairly restricted for Americans, but has anyone (well, Americans) successfully gone and returned? If so, what are your tips on how to get there, visas, etc?
Thanks!
Just fyi: the Plaza Jazz Fest happens each December in Havana, and this year will probably take place the 15 - 19 of the month. It's worth booking then if you love jazz, as the Cuba musicians are better than spectacular.
Get there on AirCanadaVacations. Where you can book your own flight online. Through Vancouver or Toronto. From LA, probably can do the same with Aero Mexicana, through Meixco City. Air Canada gives you the visa for free. A travel agent will charge you $75 for it.
Cuba welcomes US citizens. Traveling there is easy, and the people are stunningly happy and friendly.
Enjoy.
When I went, I went through a student organization for research. I'm pretty sure that it's the only way Americans are allowed through right now :( having just searched, this article might help! http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/17/travel/cuba-travel-feat/
