Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Split

Getting from Split to Plitvice quickly & cheaply

Me and a friend will be in Croatia from September 17th-27th and are planning a daytrip from Split to Plitvice National Park on September 19th. Looking at buses, they seem very affordable but take a long over 4 hours reasonable? We're looking for another option (preferably not a tour) that will get us there as quickly as possible! We'd need the same option to get us back that night :) let us know if you have any ideas - thanks so much.

Hi cousin! <g>

A rental car is a joy and not expensive in Split. The bus to Plitvice Lakes National Park will take over four hours and will really eat up your time spent at the park, unless you stay overnight. That's a joy.

Here's how you can arrange a day trip excursion.

Daytrip from Split to Plitvice lakes:

Pick Up between 7.00 am and 7.30 am at arrange meeting point. Drive on the highway to National Park Plitvice Lakes. Guided tour a cross the National Park including boat ride and ride with electric train (ca 5 hrs). Optional stop in traditional restaurant. Expected time of return 8.00 pm.

Tour facts.

  • Starting point: hotel or apartment pick up
  • Starting time: 7.30
  • Duration: 12 h
  • Prices per person: 550 kn
  • Guide Languages: Eng, Ger, Ita
  • Stuff to bring for trip: camera, comfortable shoes, sun cream

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Split (city)
  2. Plitvice Lakes National Park (park)
2 thanks
