Angelika Film Center & Cafe
Hi!
We will have just one day in Copenhagen before our cruise departs next month and we would love to do a self guided walking tour.
Where is a good starting place? Can we walk to destinations from the port area?
What are the MUST sees? Can we fit in time to see Christiana?
Any awesome restaurants for lunch we can stop in along the way? Cool shops?
Many thanks in advance!
Copenhagen city center is very compact and you can definitely explore it one one day! you can start off from Rådhuspladsen (the City Hall square) walk towards Nyhavn then to The Little Mermaid.
Freetown Christiania is on the opposite shore of the river and the neighborhood next to Christiania is interesting as well.
For restaurants I absolutely loved gorm's i Magstræde (it's a pizza place that they also have a restaurant in NYhavn) and Gråbrødretorv square (I've dined at Huks Fluks)
oh yeah! as for cool shops I definitely recommend & Other Stories

Start at Rådhuspladsen where the town hall is and then walk down the long pedestrian shopping street that goes through the oldest part of Copenhagen. That will take you past Gammeltorv King's New Square and down to Nyhavn which is the former trading harbour, but now a popular cafe and restaurant area. Moce up from there to the royal castle Amalienborg. If you get there at noon then you can see the changing of the guards. Then continue out to Kastellet and The Little Mermaid and you have then done a pretty nice walk of the most important part of the city.
