My boyfriend’s band has a few gigs in Columbus next month and we want to know where to eat. He’s playing a few dates there over a week so we would like a few choices. We're looking for places that wouldn't break the bank and also late night places would be awesome for after shows. What are some good places that a local would hit up?
Short North Arts District is a really popular spot for dinner and nightlife. It's where the young professionals/grad students live and go out so it's not the most inexpensive but not outrageous. You can look up all the information here: http://www.shortnorth.org/nightlife. You have to try Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams for a treat at some point and Late Night Slice is really great after the bars.

Blue Danube is the place. It's a late night diner with a bar. Back in the day, that was my go-to joint. I recently went back and had the steak and shrimp dinner. It was one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time! They have a great menu selection, and a juke box too. Check it out.
There are many great place you can go in Columbus. If you want more fun upbeat surroundings the Short North Arts District area would be perfect., Full of bars and nice restaurants all open late. One i recommend for late nights would be Late Night Slice, awesome pizza and has multiple locations for your liking. There are many other places as well I'm not sure what food you are interested in but there are some for everyone's taste

There are so many great places to eat! It is hard to choose.
For great brunch/lunch, I recommend Tasi. The prices are good and the food is wonderful. However, you might have to wait for a table if they are busy.
You can't go wrong with Northstar Café. They have great food and the prices aren't bad considering you don't have a server to tip. They have several locations throughout Columbus.
My late night go-to is Late Night Slice.
The Crest Gastropub, Wildflower Cafe, Bakersfield Short North, Villa Nova Ristorante are all good too.
If you like ice cream, you should definitely plan a visit to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. It is definitely worth the price. Be sure to try lots of flavors before you pick. They have a lot of interesting seasonal flavors out right now and you can get two different flavors in the small.

Go to an area called the Arena District if you are near downtown. There are several restaurants and late night places. For sandwiches and great burgers go to The Thurman Cafe.

Columbus has very few late night places. Mainly Tee Jaye's Country Place which has a number of locations and International House Of Pancakes. There is a sandwich place inside the Hollywood Casino Columbus that is open 24 hours a day too.
