Northstar Café for great food that is also mostly organic and healthy.

Lindey's patio/garden (may-sep)

Anything by Cameron Mitchell for the service (Marcella's Ristorante, The Pearl, Molly Woo's Asian Bistro, Cameron's American Bistro...)

Definitely try Mikey's Late Night Slice.  If you have time try and stop by the North Market and get Hot Chicken Takeover.  Great spicy fried chicken.
Katalina'sin Victorian Village for either pancake balls or breakfast tacos. Wolf's Ridge Brewing also has a very good brunch.
One of my go to 'non-fancy' restaurants is Columbus Brewing Company. All the food is good, but the garlic fries are my favorite fries in Columbus and I would fight someone for their chicken and waffles...

Enjoy Columbus!

On the upscale side of things one of my favorite places is Basi Italia, which presents great Italian food in a very intimate setting (it's in an old house in the middle of a downtown neighborhood).  Also, try out G. Michael's Bistro & Bar and Harvest Pizzeria in the German Village. While in German Village, you may want to check out Skillet for Breakfast/Brunch on the weekend, their menu changes everyday and is always delicious.

In the The Short North, check out One Line Coffee and Philco Bar + Diner. Oh, and another great breakfast and lunch spot in the area is Tasi.  If you're out late and need a slice of pizza and a great atmosphere, check out Late Night Slice, but they also have a few other locations around town that are all usually attached to local bars.

If you want to check out some off the beaten path places definitely seek out Westgate Import Market, which houses a tiny Thai restaurant run in the back of the grocery store.  Also, for some great tacos, try the al pastor, but all of them are great, I suggest Los Gauchos, which has two brick and mortar establishments, but the food truck offers the best experience. Tandoori Grill and Jeddo Kabab offer great Pakistani and Middle Eastern dishes.

The Thurman Cafe. Biggest best cooked to perfection burger you'll probably ever experience. If you can go around 11am or after 2pm you should have no problem getting in.

Hello Valerie!

My favorite restaurant is Marcella's Ristorante.  It is an Italian restaurant located in the down town area won the Columbus Alive award for best Italian.

Cap City is also very good.  They serve typical American style food.  Another good place is Lavash Cafe and Aladdin's Eatery which are Middle eastern based.

Hope I helped!

These are my favorite local-source, farm-to-table restaurants.

I also like these other places as well

For a list of other real good ethnic restaurants and their reviews go to alt.eats.columbus and check them out.

Schmidt's is my favorite. Crowded on weekends but great food and fun atmosphere in the picturesque German Village neighborhood. Get a giant cream puff for dessert
