I understand there are many good hiking trails and trips near Colorado Springs. What would be a good hotel, or part of town to stay in as a base for many day trips? We are beginner to moderate hikers. We're looking to stay only 3 days.

I would stay on the west side of Colorado Springs for hiking. Most of the good trails are located there. Maybe close to HWY 24 area would be best.
