Bridget asked

How many days in each Colombian city and what to do?

I'm going to Cartagena, Medellin and Cali. The first chunk of the trip will be Cartagena from December 28th-January 1. Trying to figure out how to split up the rest of the trip between Medellin and Cali (we're flying out of Cali to get home so we have to end there).

How many days should we do in each city? What should we do? We're big foodies so any food recs are also appreciated!

Also, we're not big on doing a 4 hour day trip to Jardin from Medellin. Any other day trips closer to the city? Or to Cali?

Thank you!

Hi Bridget, usually 3 to 4 days max in each city is enough. That's not including any potential day trips around each city. Guatapé is a good option for a 2 hour trip from Medellín

Hopes this helps.

Hi,

3 days in each city will be enough, near Medellin there some good spots to visit but most of them are quite far driving (from 1 - 3 hours), my recommendations are El Peñol;Santa Fe de Antioquia;Jardín although is far is a really nice place to stay one or two nights if you have the time.

In medellin there`s a neighborhood called Provenza, there you will find good restaurants and nightlife. For local food try "La Hacienda" or "Que hare para enamorarte" (30 minutes from Medellin)

Near Cali, Lago Calima Valle

Hope you enjoy Colombia

Regards

Felipe G
