Can someone help me plan a road trip from Cleveland, OH to Maine

We are a family of 4 (12 y/o daughter & 13 y/o son) and we are bored with our normal beach vacations. Love adventurous activities like 4-wheeling, horseback riding (not a slow group one), obstacle courses, in-door rock climbing, white water rafting, fishing charters, watersports, etc. Really up for anything "different/unique". Staying in a castle or some non-traditional accommodations would be cool. We are driving from Cleve to Maine (not sure where) and back from July 25th to Aug 1st and want a trip to really remember. We aren't frilly and like adventures more than fanciness. Any suggestions would be helpful.

A couple random thoughts.
For an adventurous vacation, you can reserve a room in an Adirondack hunting lodge. They offer a number of different services and facilities such as hiking trails, swimming, fishing, horseback riding and more.
You could also try to visit Boston Harbor Islands State Park, which consists of 34 small islands in Boston Harbor. They can be visited by boat, and there are several hiking trails between the islands.

Drive through the Finger Lake region of New York and see some of the many waterfalls in and around Watkins Glen and Ithaca You can tour Warner Castle in Rochester, but you can't stay there. Also not a castle or lodge, but a place you might enjoy visiting, is Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Observatory in Bucksport, Maine. It's on the way to Acadia National Park which is definitely worth the visit, even if you have to battle summer tourist crowds. There are so many fun and challenging trails like the Beehive Trail and Precipice Trail both of which will test your rock climbing skills. There are fishing charters out of Bar Harbor with lots of wonderful coves to explore. You can check into staying at Goose Rock Lighthouse – that would be something different.
In Clarendon Vermont you can book a stay at a Grist Mill, or stay in a Treehouse, or on your own Private Island in Maine.
