Katie from Los Angeles asked

What's the best neighborhood in Cleveland for a first time visitor?

I've never been to Cleveland and I'm a little overwhelmed by all the hotel options. I'd like to stay in a hotel that is central and gives me good sense of what Cleveland is like. I'd love to know where locals tell their friends to stay when they visit, and why those areas and hotels are special. thanks!

The best place to stay would probably be Downtown. The places that give you a sense of Cleveland do not have a lot of hotel options. The Cleveland Hostel in Ohio City is a great location close to great bars, breweries and the West Side Market. For a sense of Cleveland, I would suggest visiting Ohio City, Tremont, Lakewood (Ohio) and University Circle/Little Italy (Ohio)/Coventry Rd

Hilton Cleveland Downtown. It has good central location and an amazing rooftop Bar 32 that lets you see the lake on one side and the city on the other.

Midtown is the heart of the city. It's close to many museums, close enough to get to downtown Cleveland, Severance Hall, to Case Western Reserve University campus, University Hospital, and Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. You are a hop away from Coventry Village which is a cool artsy district on the east side of Cleveland, and a short trip to Tremont, a foodies paradise.

The Hilton Garden Inn downtown has amazing views! Check out The Glidden House as well. Amazing location for all museums.
