I'm going to be in Chico next month and will be on a pretty tight budget. I'm looking for the best free and inexpensive things to check out! I love the outdoors, art, museums, you name it. Thanks!
We have one of the largest city parks in the country. Bring a bike if you can, or rent one while you're here, Bidwell Park One-Milehas upper and lower park and is awesome and free for walking, riding, etc. Our downtown is quaint and has a large farmers market on Thursday night and free concerts in the park on Friday nights. Be prepared for it to be hot! And wonderful.
Chico is perfect for people who love the outdoors! There's One-mile park you can visit with a huge man-made pool that's made from the creek that runs through Chico. There's hiking at 5-mile and Monkey Face . You can visit Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park. There's an art museum downtown. Right across the art musuem there's Madison Bear Garden where you can get some yummy inexpensive food!
