I'll be staying in the River North area of Chicago in two weeks. Looking for a fun but not too expensive restaurant to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. There will be 14 of us. Any suggestions???
Hi Joanne,
Quartino is great but I also love Havana Grill for groups - on the less expensive side for the neighborhood, great mojitos, and delicious cuban flavors!
It all depends on what kind of food you like and how much you want to spend, but here are few affordable alternatives:
Lou Malnati's Pizzeriaat 439 N. Wells for the best pizza in town.
Quartino at 626 N. State St. for Italian. May get your own room or area if you call in advance.
Grand Lux Cafe at 600 N. Michigan (American)
Cafe Iberico at 739 N. La Salle (Tapas)
Sunda (Asian)
Mentioned in this answer:
For a group that big, Quartino is not only equipped to provide a good experience, but on weekend nights they typically have an abundance of large parties upstairs. Italian tapas style restaurant, good wine, good atmosphere and reasonable prices.
Hi Joanne!
First restaurant that comes to mind is Quartino. Delicious italian, reasonably priced and accommodating for a large group. Plus, great location right in River North. Make sure to get the Cavatelli. Delish!
Enjoy and happy birthday to your sister!
