Boat tours might not run all the way through the end of November, it can be rather chilly and I assume that all boat tours in November would be from inside the boat, not on top. The one from the Chicago Architecture Foundation is usually thought to be the best, I was a little surprised to see how expensive it has become as I think it was $25 or so the last time I did it. If you aren't an architecture geek, you might try Wendella or Shoreline, they still give you a tour but it's not as detailed. But you might be able to get less expensive tickets, maybe even 2 for 1 especially in November which is low season in Chicago
I wasn't aware that there was more than one, but I think the one organized by the Chicago Architecture Foundation would be the most informative. (That's the one I took some years ago)
