Heading to Charlotte and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?
It depends on what your'e looking for. My favorites are Halcyon Flavors From the Earth (Uptown) -- a great farm-to-table experience. Pinky's Westside Grill in Freemore for burgers and beer. Yama Izakaya for ramen in Plaza Midwood. The Fig Tree Restaurant in Elizabeth for fine dining and an amazing wine list. Try Queen City Q in Matthews and Uptown for BBQ. Head over to Renaissance Patisserie in the South End for yummy treats. If you're in Southpark, check out Rooster's Southpark and Georges Brasserie.

Our go-to restaurant is Georges Brasserie in South Park, we know the awesome staff there, the food is always and it just makes us happy eating our way through the menu. Things to try are fried brussel sprout leaves, the ceviche of the day, duck confit and whatever they're doing with their scallops. If pork belly is on the menu, get it! (Now I'm hungry!) Another good one in South Park is BAKU- they're doing some really interesting things with food. In Uptown - farm to table is Halcyon Flavors From the Earth, and Good Food on Montford, locally grown, cool atmosphere. In Elizabeth Carpe Diem, Customshop and Passion8 - you may want to considering doing your own progressive dinner down Elizabeth, everything's in walking distance. Enjoy!!

My favorites around town:
Middle Eastern Kabab - Je Rotisserie & Grille great spreads and fresh bread from a wood fire oven.
Tamarind Fine Cuisine Of India go off times, tiny restaurant.
JJs Red Hots great grilled hot dogs order your dog "real nice" a mayo, jalapeno mixture.
Doan's Vietnamese Cuisine great Vietnamese, yellow pancake, grilled beef fresh roll, avocado smoothie
Le's Sandwiches & Cafe great Bahn Mi sandwiches, open at 9a, perfect for road food if you are driving, besides the part where you feel ridiculous eating such a huge sandwich driving.
Brook's Sandwich House counter only, hamburgers and hot dogs wrapped in wax paper, stand outside and talk to locals and devour down junk food. Check hours and $$ cash only$$!!!!! Closes afternoon!!!
Best coffee Not Just Coffee
Balanced cocktails at the Ritz on 15 floor The Punch Room
I love to drink wine retail instead of jacked up restaurant prices.

Cafe Monte is a chill little french cafe with some delicious food. Thoroughly recommend the quiche there.
Mac's Speed Shop, Pinky's Westside Grill and JJs Red Hotsare all great eats for burgers, dogs, beer and atmosphere. If you end up at Mac's, I'd thoroughly recommend the mac 'n cheese (the name is no coincidence). Both Pinky's and JJs have some crazy hotdog and burger combos...hard to go wrong with anything on their menus.
Fenwick's Restaurant has an amazing brunch on Sundays until around 2 PM.
Amelie's French Bakery is a fun winding venue known for their decor and amazing pastries.
Flying Biscuit Cafe is a good source for all sorts of Southern comfort food. There's also one the few Caribou Coffee left around Charlotte right down the sidewalk from them if you like that brand over Starbucks.
Another Broken Egg Cafe has some delicious breakfast and brunch options.
Pisces Sushi Bar & Lounge is an amazing choice if you're a sushi lover.
