Lots depend on where you want to be in location everything.  The Mills House Hotel is right in the center of everything.  The Francis Marion Hotel is a nice place.  There are a number of really neat B&B's on the peninsula.  There are also a number of really nice small inns, Charming Inns of Charleston, Zero George, Anson, Vendue Inn.  Market Pavilion Hotel and Charleston Place Hotel are also a couple options. This just scratches the surface on the inns.

As to places to eat, that can be overwhelming as the dining scene in Charleston is outstanding.  A few suggestions, Husk, Poogan's Porch (both on Queen Street), 167 Raw on East Bay, The Drawing Room at the Vendue Inn and the Peninsula Grill on Market and the Charleston Grill in the Charleston Place.  On upper King there are a number of great places, Indaco (italian), The Rarebit, The Grocery and The Macintosh.  On further up King there is Leon's and Edmund's Oast.  This too just scratches the surface as there are loads of great places in Charleston to eat.

Now for music..........

We have the Music Farm with is the traditional bar music venue that has regional and some national acts.  Music most nights.  No real set genre. There is the Charleston Music Hall that is one of the best venues around, but not always great acts.  Past that, it is just bar bands or singer/songwriters and mostly DJs in the clubs.  Charleston was once a neat music town, but now, not so much.

I live in Charleston so feel free to contact me if you have more questions.
