If you are there on a Saturday 8am-2pm from April-November, go to the Farmers Market at Marion Square.  Everyone usually enjoys walking through the shops, they have everything from jewelry, music, to awesome food.  Also the Historic Charleston City Market is always full of people.  Walk the S Battery St for a pretty view and King Street from Calhoun Street towards the Battery.  Theatre 99 is improv comedy, could be fun for older teens.  If you want to try an off the path local restaurant with amazing sandwiches take them to Five Loaves Cafe.  The city is really meant for eating, tours, walking and shopping.

Walking through King Street and the Charleston City Market is fun for all ages. I'm not a fan of horse tours, but ghost tours are interesting as well. I also like walking the Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge, which gives you exercise and a great view.
