My family is interested in traveling to Colombia over the holidays for 7-8 days. We are mainly looking to spend time relaxing on nice beaches while still experiencing the culture. We are fairly active and enjoy activities such as kayaking, snorkeling and hiking- but are not interested in being on the go 24/7. Basically looking for a fairly easy itinerary that is a good mix between adventure, food, tranquility and unique experiences. We have been to multiple Caribbean islands and Costa rice in recent years. Favorites have been costa rica, barbados and st john. We would like to stay in a more high end villa or hotel that would accommodate 5 adults ranging from 20-55.
Any suggestions or advice much appreciated (mainly looking for where to stay and the best white, sandy beaches- would love to avoid any super crowded/touristy places but also not be too far off the beaten path)!
Hi, a good hotel can be the Hotel InterContinental Cartagenal or some boutique hotels in the city center or if you want to be by the beach you can get an apartment for rent by Los Morros. As far as a good beach in ctg, you can go to an island called Tierra Bomba its like a boat ride away and those are pretty economical you can also get a night at a hotel there... check out Fenix Beach Cartagena. The city center is gorgeous to walk around always be vigilant on your surroundings though. there are a couple good restaurants: VERA CUCINA ITALIANA AQUABAR, El Gobernador by Rausch, MILA VARGAS CAFE for breakfast or dessert, crepes and waffles is a staple (nutella waffle), Juan del Mar, Cuzco Cocina Peruana, Marea by Rausch, ect... for nightlife you can go to Cafe del Mar, EL BALUARTE SAN FRANCISCO JAVIER,(live music) those are both outside, LA MOVIDA 2-14 more club. For other things to do you can go visit Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, Casa de Gabriel Garcia Marquez theres different plazas and histoeic building kn the city center(Ciudad Amurallada), yoy can also visit.
