The route from Calgary to Montreal detailed below does not enter the US. It is 3600+km/2240+ miles and will take at least 38 hours to drive not including any stops or traffic congestion. The route includes long stretches of road with little or no habitation so you must carefully plan your fuel/food/rest stops. 1. Follow route 1 (Trans-Canadian Highway), passing through or near Medicine Hat, Moose Jaw, Regina and Portage la Prairie. 2. Continue on route 1 (TCH) to Winnipeg then take the 100 (TCH) around the southern outskirts of the city. 3. Continue on route 1 (TCH)/17 (TCH) passing through or near Hadashville, Kenora, Vermilion Bay, Thunder Bay 4. At Nipigon leave the 17 and follow the 11 (TCH) passing through or near Longlac, Hearst, Kapuskasingand Cochrane 5.Matheson leave the 11 and take the 101 eastwards, passing near Duparquet and around the eastern edge of Rouyn Noranda.
