I've booked flights to Bucharest arriving Oct 17 at 20:50, departing Budapest on Oct 25 at 9:10. I've not planned an itinerary. My thoughts were to go on a 2-3 day tour of Transylvania, then take train to Budapest for 3 day.
Time is short so planning will be essential! Would you please recommend itinerary changes, must-see & must do's. We are a couple in our 40s, prefer independent travelling but given time limitations may consider tours.
I haven't travelled to Bucharest or Transylvania, but I did spend 3 days in Budapest. It is one of my favourite cities!

Hello, you can visit Brasov the city is in the center of the Transylvania, it's a lovely city, with a lot of beatiful heritage like, Biserica Neagră, Cetățuia de pe Strajă, Sinagoga Beth Israel, the narrowest street in Europe Strada Sforii. From this city you can go easy to visit the nearby towns:
If you whant to be in middle of nature, i recommend Hiking. I'll give you a link where you can book https://www.booking.com/hotel/ro/casa-le-monde . The owners are travel guides, they can help you to visit or just give you some tips with your travel.
