Belgian nightlife? bar + electro-music nightclub in Brussels

Hey fellas, I'll be in Brussels one week-end in early October. I heard a lot about the nightlife there and even if I've had the chance to spend few months in this lovely city, it was too long ago and I guess that things have changed.

So does anyone have an idea of a trendy cool bar to start the evening in the city center? Kinda cool crowd, chill-out, great drinks, not too expensive / fancy.

And then, where are the best kinda electro nightclub to dance all night long?

Thanks a lot in advance! Cheers, k.

Hello Kevin!

If you're looking for a cool bar in downtown Brussels, definitely check out Delirium Cafe. It's lost within the web of tiny, cobble stone streets surrounding the Grand Place. This bar has 2000 beers on its menu and will be filled with young students and fun, laid back, beer loving belgians.

Some other good bars are: L'Archiduc a very cool and jazz type bar; Bonnefooi a laid-back whiskey bar.

For nightclubs, there's Fuse which is an institution, sort of a young crowd but plays Dubstep and Electro. Both Fuse (DJ Moreno) are pretty chill and grungy. I haven't been, but apparently Mr Wong is the trendy club to be at these days. Jeux D'Hiver is high end in a nice wooded area but a little snob and you have to dress up, plus it's kind of out of the way. Wood Resto Bar is much more chill.

Another good beer bar, not quite as touristic, would be Moeder Lambic. Great selection of beers, and not as packed as Delirium Cafe and Floris Bar, though they will offer pretty much any drink you can imagine.
