What to do in Brooklyn during the cold winter months?

I will be in Brooklyn with some mates in late January/early February. We're staying at an Airbnb in Williamsburg. What are some fun things to do during there for a group of 20-something year olds when it's cold?

Hello! Not sure if you've been here but Radegast Hall & Biergartenis a great place to grab a liter of beer and some german food. Great for groups and for meeting new people. Also Brooklyn Bowl is a great place to grab a drink, do some bowling or catch a live band pretty much any night of the week.

Brooklyn Brewery is indoors. Has a pretty decent size beer hall/tasting room with long tables, and you can take a free tour!

Hi there I went in New York last year in January and it was incredible! Brooklyn is fantastic and you can do a lot of things. First you have to see the Brooklyn Bridge. If you want to have fun you have to go to Coney Island. It's very funny for young people!
Then you can go to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, it's a formidable place

Hope you have fun :)

I recommend going to Brooklyn Bowl - turns into a bit of a bowling dance party and perhaps an early cocktail at the Wythe Hotel rooftop (there's an indoor portion) at a time while you can still catch the sunset.

If you like flea markets Brooklyn Flea Markethas an indoor market in the winter.

Court St and Smith St are good places for walking around because there are so many bars and restaurants and shops if it gets really cold you can just duck into one.

Grimaldi's is not bad pizza, it's not, but it's not worth the lines or heavy tourism...If you want good pizza in Brooklyn, go to Franny's , Roberta's or Best Pizza , the last of which will be right in your hood. Definitely go get drinks at Wythe Hotel and do some people and skyline watching. Head over to Brooklyn Bowl or if you want to see a grittier crowd, The Gutter to get a couple of beers and do a little bowling. Another fun place to hang is The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club , good chance to meet some people, but the waits can be over 2 hours if you go at the wrong time. Brooklyn Bridge is nice on a nice day, but if you have a terribly cold or overcast day, I'd probably skip it.

My recommendation would be the Brooklyn Night Bazaar. This place literally has it all. The bazaar is housed in a gigantic warehouse that has everything that you may want to do. Do you want to watch local bands perform? No problem, just go to the stage area and enjoy the music. But I also want to be able to eat some great food and drink some alcohol? Well there are food and beverage stands ready to supply you with what you desire. But i may want to play some arcade games after. No problem the bazaar has arcade games as well. But I also want to buy some unique Brooklyn wares. You guessed it the bazaar has you covered, local vendors set up tables and sell their wares. They even have a mini golf course. Oh, I forgot to mention, its free to get in.

Mayra and Allison have some great suggestions - definitely check those out for indoor fun. If you're willing to venture outside (dress warmly), I'd highly recommend going to Brooklyn Bridge park with a camera for amazing views of the city. You may also want to check out Park Slope - lots of fun bars/cafes/restaurants around there. I'd recommend Union Hall for drinks!

It's very subjective. If you are into electronic/techno/house music, you will find a bunch of warehouse/club parties hosted here on the following link (search by new york):

http://www.residentadvisor.net/events.aspx

Two clubs opened here within last 2 years: OutputVerboten and a resurgent scene that has a lot of talent coming in. For some of the warehouse parties, they will tell you the location 24 hours before the start time via email.

If you are not into that, you can check out Brooklyn Night Bazaar for good food, beer and some band music, Baby's All Right (music depends on the weekend so check their calendar), Radegast Hall & Biergarten (for great beer selection and cozy environment), Skinny Dennis cozy bar with band music (try Willie's Frozen Slushy=bourbon and coffee with ice). You will notice that there are a ton of other bars/restaurants you can check out in the area so I would encourage exploring on your own.
