I am looking for low- to mid-range dining options for lunch and dinner during two days in Brisbane. I would prefer to dine at restaurants that use fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Avanti Cafe and Pasta, Mundo Churrasco Restaurant, Sassafras canteen and Taj Bengal Indian Restaurant are all good in the Bardon/Paddington/Ashgrove area of Brisbane.
Peasant Restaurant and Black Hide Steakhouse are great near the Caxton St area. Black Hide has the best steak you will ever eat, but you will pay a pretty penny for it. For other steak places try The Normanby Hotel or Breakfast Creek Hotel.
Alfred & Constance is very funky and has a club upstairs, anywhere in Chinatown for good Asia, and Cloudland (also a night club later on) in the Fortitude Valley area are good.
West End and South Bank Parkland have great restaurants.
Enjoy Brisbane!

You should definitely check out Passion On A Plate as I know they use all local produce!
