Unique activities for parents visiting this weekend

My parents are visiting me in this weekend and I'd love to show them a good time around Boulder.

So far I have a visit to Estes Park and dinner at Oak planned.

They want to do some light hiking and have good food while here.

What are some unusual suggestions you have?

Thanks in advance!

For light hiking (and without the Chautauqua Park crowds I like both Caribou Ranches (if its open when they are here) or Walker Ranch.

Thanks Kiri, I've never been out to Walker Ranch, we might give it a try!

There are great mellow hikes in Boulder. Dry Creek TrailheadWonderland Lake TrailheadHeil Valley RanchBoulder Canyon TrailMount Sanitas TrailHall Ranch TrailRocky Mountain National Park is nice but not completely open this time of year. Estes Park is cute but such a touristy town. Why not go to Lyons instead? unless you are going to the park, the town isn't with it. Way more great things to do around here.
Swetsville Zoo off I25 is a great art sculpture walk. Lots of fun walking Pearl Street Mall. way better than Estes. You could go up to the Peak to Peak Highway and go into the hiking area in Camp Dick or PEACEFUL VALLEY - The Saint Vrain Trail is a great hike. Just can't remember which campground it's off of. Look it up. Lots of great restaurants in Boulder County too. Way better than Estes. Take them up to Ward (Colorado)Nederland (Colorado). Great little explorations. Good luck.

Hi Tobin!

The Boulder Creek Fest would be a great place to take them. It'll definitely be crowded but it's good to see. And watching the Bolder Boulder runners is always a good time. Sanitas is a good hike. Definitely a little challenging but the views are amazing.
