I wanted to know a great place to shop on the cheap in Boston.
I love thrift shops and vintage clothing.
The trip would be a day trip.
The SoWa Open Market in the South Endlocated on Albany Street held every Sunday is really fun -many eclectic vendors.
Second Time Around on Newbury Street usually has great sales and Poor Little Rich Girl is also great!
Oona's Experienced Clothing in Harvard Square for great deals.

The Garment District is probably the best thrift shop around, plus depending on what time you go, there is Dollar a Pound on the lower floor. It's pretty much a large warehouse room with a pit of clothing, they hand you a trash bag and you go to town. Pay by the pound.
Easy walk from the MBTA Kendall/MIT Station

Definitely check out Buffalo Exchange in Harvard Square, and Oona's Experienced Clothing.

Go to The Garment District in Kendall Square in Cambridge and the thrift stores in Harvard Square like Oona's Experienced Clothing and Second Time Around in Boston. They all have great stuff.

Take a trip up the Red Line to Davis Square, technically in Somerville but super quick and easy to get to.
Also try The Garment District in Kendall Square. Allston (Massachusetts) (Rock City) has a TON of thrifting as well as cute independent shops to check out, tons of great world food and bars as well.
For the typical (read: touristy) and higher end shopping Newbury Street/ Boylston Street is your absolute go to destination.

Bobby from Boston on Thayer Street - the best for vintage and used clothes.

There are a few vintage and secondhand shops on Newbury St, that would probably be your best bet. Second Time Around is one of them.
