I'm not sure if it's free, but the Harvard Museum of Natural History is excellent.  It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has a very impressive collection of fossils.

Late-night-pizza wise you can't go wrong with the classic Pinocchio's Pizza & Subs

The Coop library somehow breaths the spirit of harvard academic community.

The Silhouette Lounge welcomes old souls around the corner.

Tasty Burger is this never closing hype burger joints where kids date.

Take a walk through the John F Kennedy Park near the river to see harvarders conversing about their outstanding outlook on the universe.

Public sparkling happens in what's called the pit of Harvard Square, which is the central area encompassing the T station.

Many more urban legend float in the air for the aficionados of harvard sq...

Harvard University offer a free tour of their campus. The Longfellow House Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site has a tour and gardens to walk thru. Harvard Art Museums just underwent a major renovation. Plenty of decent food on a student's budget in Harvard Square. Go to harvard coop, a fun store to explore.

Hi Kelly,

As Nars said, the Harvard museums are awesome! You can also visit Harvard Square or take a quick trip (less than 10 minutes!) on the T (red line) to cross the Charles River. If you get off at the Charles/MGH stop, you'll be in perfect position to explore the pretty homes and shops of Beacon Hill

If you have more time, the Boston Common and tourist hot-spot Cheers Boston aren't far away. Seeing these things won't cost much, if anything. :)

Have fun!
