Best way to get to downtown Boston from Logan Airport

I'm traveling pretty light, so is there a train or bus I can take?  Or should I just cab it?  I'm staying at the Westin and arriving on a Wednesday afternoon if that helps. Thanks!

Schedule for Silver Line from Logan Airport

Todd and Mike are exactly correct. The Silver Line from Terminal A - Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) will take you to the World Trade Center stop. Which is where the Westin is. Once at the World Trade Center stop, proceed 2 levels up to the Mezzanine level. The hotel is located at the end of the foot bridge on Summer Street, next door to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

You might find the link above useful. It shows the schedule times for the "T" picking up from the airport and traveling to the World Trade Center stop. Enjoy!

Public transportation is super easy in Boston. Assuming you are staying at the The Westin Copley Place, just take the free airport shuttle (#33) to the Blue line T (MBTA) station. Take the Blue line Inbound (all the subway lines hub in downtown Boston so going there is always the Inbound direction no matter where you are coming from) and get off at Government Center Train Station stop. From there, take any Green line trolly (B, C, D, or E) to Copley Square and Voila! Only 2 bucks!

Sunil - this should be super easy on public transportation. If you jump on the "Silver Line" it'll take you to the World Trade Center (two stops after leaving the airport) and you'll be a block from the The Westin Boston Waterfront.

You can do the T rather easily.  Download a map online.  I also just took a cab from Logan to the North end of Boston and it was $30 with tip (and there was a toll coming into Boston)  I've done both public transportation and cab.  Both have merits.

The Silver Line is the way to go if you're staying at the Westin by the Waterfront. If it's the Westin Copley Place, you'll want to take the blue line inbound, get off at Government Center and take an outbound green line train to Copley Square (pronounced Cop-lee, not Cope-lee), from there it's right on the other side of Copley Square. A cab should run you between $20 - $30.

The MBTA (the "T") operates the Silver Line from the airport to various locations in town. http://www.mbta.com/riding_the_t/logan/ . Hope this helps! It will probably be the least expensive option though there are always cabs nearby too if you don't want to wait for the Silver Line bus.

I would take a cab -it's the  easiest and fastest way. But you could take the train to Copley Square. I believe you catch the blue line to the red line! If your're staying at the The Westin Copley Place in Copley Square. very close to everything.

Most definitely take the train. You can catch the Silver line into MBTA South Station which is in the Fort Point area of Boston. Great places to eat and drink around there.

If that's not your scene, you can just hop on the Red line from South Station anywhere in the city.

The MBTA silver line (technically a bus, but it's put on the subway map) goes straight from the airport terminals to MBTA South Station, which is on the Red Line subway. Best of all, it's actually free when you're going from the airport to the city! You should be able to stick on the subway system to get to your hotel, but which line you take will depend on which Westin you're going to.

I'd definitely recommend public transit to get downtown - the tunnel is always really busy, so a cab will probably cost you a fair amount.

The Silverline SL-1 Will take you in and you can catch another T at the MBTA South Station stop, Its only $2.50 no matter how far you go.  Check out the map at http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/subway/

Also if you have time, order a Charlie Card online, it will save you hassle, especially if you are going on a weekend.  The Charlie Card makes it only $2.00 per trip

You can take the Silver Line directly from Boston Logan International Airport to MBTA South Station then take the Red Line into downtown Boston easily, but the name is a misnomer -- the Silver Line is actually a bus and sometimes takes a while.  A cab will cost you about $20 dollars but will be much much quicker (about 15 minutes).  Cabs are just sadly quite expensive in Boston.

The Silver line is a free shuttle bus line that will take you right from your gate to South Station, from there you can actually hop on the red line for free as well and go anywhere on the T

Westin at Copley Place or Westin Waterfront?  For Westin Waterfront the Silver Line (uses buses but is treated as/considered to be the 5th Subway line in Boston) goes directly from Boston Logan International Airport to  The Waterfront area.  For Copley Place it depends on whether cost is a factor - if not so much a factor, you are best to cab it to Copley Place because subway (MBTA) would be at least one line change, probably two (but doable).

It's super easy. I don't know which Westin you're staying at, so I'll give you directions for both. To get to The Westin Boston Waterfront, at the Boston Logan International Airport, take the silver line to the World Trade Center Stop. If going to The Westin Copley Place, take the blue line, then transfer at the Government Center stop to the green line and get off at Copley Square.

By the way, you should look into if your hotel has a shuttle. Many do. But public transportation is easy enough in this case as well.

you can take the T (our subway).  You have to catch a free shuttle from the terminal to the T station (about 3-5 minutes) then it'll cost you a few bucks to get the westin.  A cab will run you about 25 bucks and take about 15 min.

You can take the Silverline to MBTA South Station in Boston. From there you can walk or take a cab. It shouldn't be too complicated from there.
