Bora Bora, Moorea

must-do honeymoon activities

We are going to Moorea and Bora Bora on April for our Honeymoon. Does anyone have tips on MUST do activites/excursions? Is the lunch on a motu worth the price?

Congrats! Sounds great! We spent some time on Bora Bora at Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora and they offered a few activities which i'm sure you can book through any hotel. The main one we did was the shark and sting ray snorkeling. It was really pretty cool because you're up close to the rays and the sharks. They give you fish to feed the rays, and they literally swim up on you trying to get the fish. Kind of crazy. The sharks were within  a few feet of us and the tour leader fed them.

At the resort there was sailing, windsurfing and stand up paddle boards... all the normal stuff.

We went into town and had dinner at Bloody Mary's Restaurant and it was fine but expensive, like everything over there.

One thing we didn't do was pay for our food in advance because we thought we would be going away from the resort and seeing a lot of stuff. But there isn't any place to really go. We were kind of stuck at the resort. So if we did it again we would buy the food package in advance and it would cut our food cost in half.

I would plan on spending a lot time doing nothing and just relaxing because there isn't a ton to do... which is perfect for a honeymoon.

Moorea sounds great too... Enjoy!!

Congrats! We just got back from Bora Bora and stayed at the The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort. As mentioned by JR Johnson do the Shark and Sting Ray Snorkeling. On top of that the Jet Ski is a lot of fun, you can also do an ATV tour on the island. We also had the private sunset champagne cruise where you have your photos taken on the boat. We booked through Pacific For Less who offered a great deal on the accommodation as well as activities compared with booking directly with the hotel. Bloody Mary's Restaurant is worth going to for the traditional experience but don't expect too much from food and drinks. Villa Mahana is one of the best restaurants to try in the area. To be honest you cant go too wrong on food in the area as the standard is exceptionally high.

Congrats! Not sure if you've already left for your honeymoon, but I wanted to offer a suggestion. We took a helicopter tour through the InterContinental Bora Bora Thalasso Resort & Spa and it was absolutely amazing. It's a little expensive, but you'll have some breathtaking photos for the rest of your life!

You can also take a 4x4 jeep safari of the main island, which is not too expensive and definitely a lot of fun. Your guide will show you some Bora Bora culture and history, and you'll get some great views from high up the mountain.

Enjoy your trip!
