Leanne from Honolulu asked

What do you do and where to eat in Boise, ID?

My daughter will be attending Boise University in the fall. When we visit, what is there to do and where can my husband and I get a nice meal with great wine?  We're foodies who enjoy the outdoors, love to visit museums and historical places. Are there any good wineries worth a visit?  Any suggestions?

If you're visiting while it is still warm, there are three iconic things to do in Boise:  hike Table Rock, rent a bike downtown and ride on the Boise River Greenbelt and float the Boise River from Barber Park.   Boise isn't known for having exceptional wineries, but there are several around the valley.  Ste. Chapelle Winery is the best known in the area.  As for restaurants, I would recommend Barbacoa Grill, Capitol Cellars and Chandlers Steakhouse-Boise.  They all have a great wine list as well as good food.
