Depends on where you are on the Blue Ridge because it stretches 469.1 miles from Afton, Virginia south to Cherokee (North Carolina). There are no places to stay right on the Blue Ridge, you have to get off and go to a town. So a good place to stay depends on where you are in that 470 miles and what you think of as a 'good place'. Do you want something really close that is just a place to sleep, or do you want a place where there are also things to see?
There are entry points near Roanoke and also near Asheville
