It's a 1500 mile journey. 500 miles take 8-10 hours/day in 100 degree heat. Please take 1 case of water per person/pet. I suggest leaving at 4am. Birmingham to Kansas City, Missouri. Is a 12 hour drive. Stay on the West side of the city to avoid morning traffic. It's about 700 miles. Go across on I-70W. I would stay 2 nights in a hotel.
