Hip restaurants for good food and nice cocktailbars?

Rosenthaler Platz is pretty hip altogether. I think anything you walk into will be either pretty cool or will serve nice food. Berlin is one of those places which is pretty cheap, but offers amazing stuff at the same time. I haven't been able to find a single place that offered bad food, however don't expect particularly good customer service (I live in London, where customer service is prime, so it's only normal for me to be disappointed).

Mitte district offers some pretty cool architecture and trendy bars. Locals think it's rather pricy, but again, comparatively to rest of Europe's capitals, it's great value.

Also for food, visit Savignyplatz, the place is a bit hidden from tourists, but offers great food. Anything you visit there will taste great. And go to Friedrichstraße for ice cream, there's a parlour just outside of the station. Or if you want REALLY good ice-cream, find Uhlandstrasse between Ku'damm and Lietzenburger Strasse and look for a very tiny, colourful looking place facing a Kaiser. Best thing I ever ate.

Sorry for not dropping any names, I'm quite bad with those. Berlin's a very easy city to get around though, so I'm sure you'll enjoy :)

Hey Charlotte, I think a great place where you gonna have a lot of fun in Berlin is Matrix Club on Warschauer Platz 18.

The place is open almost everyday. I'm from Argentina so I really liked the music, 'cause they mix sounds from top40, electronic and Latin American rithms.
