Best cocktail bars?

Will be spending a few days in Berlin for business. Would like to hit a few of the better cocktail bars in Berlin. Something with a laid back vibe but still lively would be great. We are staying in Mitte but will be all over the city, so no need to limit.

Bar Tausend! It is a hidden restaurant turning into cocktail bar turning into club at night under a bridge along the river. Make sure to look it up on a map before you go, because there are no signs what so ever! Just knock on a metal door under a bridge and if someone opens, you found it :-)!

One thing I'm fascinated by is the amount of amazing cocktail bars here in Berlin and the fact that they don't have ridiculous lines and crazy wait times. Some rival/are better than the infamous Bourbon and Branch in San Francisco! Here are some that I've discovered during my first week in Berlin:

Green Door - Get the Old Cuban! Stop by the bottle shop next door for some really rare spirits.

Lugosi Bar - On Monday's one of the former owners of The Antlered Bunny bartends here. He's great!

REDWOOD Bar Berlin - Run by a mixologist who recently moved from San Francisco. They host nerdy game nights which seem to be a big hit!

Kaschk - Craft beers are catching on quickly in Berlin. This place is great for a craft brew and they offer shuffleboard in the lower level!

Le Croco Bleu - One of the newest to hit Berlin with a really interesting history!

MountMitte - I haven't personally checked this place out yet, but weird places like this is why I moved to Berlin.

Monkey Bar - Weirdly cool bar with a great view!

Lots of places are cash only here, so be sure to pull out plenty of €!

Hey JR, two of my fav cocktail bars in Berlin,

Butcher´s Bar

Both have amazing cocktails at a decent price. And very good atmosphere. Butcher in particular is very hidden, you'll have to go through a kebab shop and a telephone booth to get there.

  2. Odessa (restaurant)

This is my top 3 of Berlin cocktail bars (in Winter):

1) Das Hotel- (it's actually not a hotel bar. it's a small bar with great cocktails next to the canal in Kreuzberg)

2) Wohnzimmer -which means living room. It actually looks like a living room and it's in Prenzlauer Berg.

3) Grand Rocka (it´s a fancy bar in Mitte. Great to take a whiskey)

*If you are in Mitte also Mein Haus am See is a good place to relax and enjoy the vibe.
