We are driving from Antibes, France and want to visit Barcelona. Where is the best place to stay if we have a car?
Hey Vembra, the way from French Riviera to Barcelona is wonderful. You can visit some city as Cadaques and Calella de Palafrugell. When arrivingg in Barcelona it's, really hard to find a place to park, an option can be go to some close city as Sitges, that is incredible, and take the train to Barcelona. If you are staying in Barcelona, the best option is find a hotel with parking 🅿, usually my husband spend for about 40 min to spot a place where parking.
Honestly Vembra, the best is to drive to a nearby station where you can take the TGV to Barcelona. Driving inside the metro area is confusing and slow and parking in the city is a nightmare and expensive -if you can find a spot that is! If you can, drive to say Montpellier and take the TGV instead. It'll leave you in Barcelona Sants, the main train hub "in" Barcelona, in about 3h and cost shouldn't be more than 75€ p.p. -again, that'll depend on the date of the travel though! Don't forget to pre-book a.s.a.p.
I understand you might have rented a car (?) and would like to get the most out of it, but parking and driving in the city is really a nuisance.
Does it help?
