Seeking moderately priced, safe, convenient place to stay.

Headed to Bangkok at the end of January for about a week for a work project. I'd like to be close to the Wat Pho area (the project is actually taking place closer to the Old Siam Shopping Plaza). I'd like something mid-range (no hostels, please) and most of all, safe and on a well-lighted street. I've been to the city before (you might see some of my old questions here from a few years ago) but I don't know it all that well so something on a main street would be preferable but I welcome all suggestions.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Courtney, i you want a good but reasonably priced Hotel, I would suggest Grand China Hotel Bangkok Its down the road (approx. 800m) from The Old Siam Shopping Plaza on Yaowarat Rd, best foods are available on Yaowarat Road especially in the evening too. Enjoy your stay and if you have any more questions, just shoot.

    Regards,

    Tomas

Besides Shanghai Mansion Bangkok, check out Prime Hotel Central Station Bangkok, a 5-minute walk from Hua Lamphang MRT Station. For a more comfortable stay, I would choose Riva Arun Bangkok (0.2 miles from Wat Pho) and Sala Rattanakosin Bangkok (also 0.2 miles from Wat Pho).

    Hope this info helps.
