Hi Katie,

Welcome to Bangalore, you are visiting the southern part of India. And you will find the coriander and Curry leaves in most of the dishes. You will find one most common Cuisine in restaurants in Idli (steamed rice Cake) and Dosa (sort of rice pan cakes). If you want to try out Chicken try Raham's and Sree Nandhini Palace. And also have lot of different Restaurants serving wide variety of places.

Reach out for any other information, Have a nice Holiday.

Hi Katie,

If you're looking at Pan Asian I would recommend - The Fatty BaoThe Baos are incredible, they have some amazing cocktails as well. No matter what, dont miss the pork belly and ribs!

Another option for Pan Asian would be Nasi and Mee Asian Canteen. Incredible Dim Sums and the prefect Thai Curry!

Indian food - You get the whole range of Indian food at Punjab Grill

Pizzas - Onesta Koramangala, hands down!

Korean/Japanese - Harima Restaurant

Live music/gigs - The Humming Tree

Hope this helps!

I assume you are looking for Indian cuisine. As you are probably aware, there are many different regions with their own distinctive fare.   The Taj Gateway Karavali restaurant has the best Kerala / coastal cuisine with special flavoring unique to that region.  Samarkhand on Infantry road has the best North West India / Afghani type of cuisine.. as a bonus there is a hookah / Lebanese restaurant next door. Annapoorani - Truly South Indian in Indira Nagar has the best South Indian (Tamil Nadu/Kannada Sahitya Parishad/Andhra Pradesh) fare.   MTR on double road is kind of iconic especially for breakfast.  Any of the Barbeque Nation joints are quite an experience for Indian kababs.  For Rajasthani food you should try Maharaja Bhog.

There is also Guarathi, Bengali, Maharastrian and even within Karnataka different regions like Coorg and Dharwad with their own flavors etc. etc.. :-)

But this should get you started

There goes your waist...hope I helped.

Bangalore isn't a tourist central and hence best places would be either be located in certain 5 star property or some mall. If you are adventurous enough to try South Indian meal then try Nandhini Restaurant or Vasudev Adiga's - Outlets are available almost through out the city.

For trendy cafes - Just walk around Brigade Rd and you should have many options. Little further is famous Church St and Lavelle Road where you would find eateries like Hoppipola, Social. For someone who is visiting from USA, I suggest to try dessert shop K.C. Das Sweets(Famous from Kolkatta and please try their Rosogollas and Sandesh). Hard Rock Cafe is located in walking distance.

High end dining - Please head to UB City or 1 MG Road. Those 2 malls have lot of restaurants such as Yauatcha Bengaluru or Sanchos, Bangalore, Lavelle Road

Bangalore got amazing ice cream sundaes shops and best one would be Corner House

If you want a more local experience, you must visit the food street in V V Puram to enjoy a variety of local food. If you prefer to visit fancier places, then we have the restaurants at Ritz Carlton, Mariott, Taj etc.

Which part of Bangalore will you be staying? Maybe I could suggest some place closeby
