Heading to Baltimore and I'm looking for the best restaurants to try while I'm visiting. Open to all types of food! What are your top places to eat?

Anything in Harbor East (moderate to high end restaurants).  On the other side of town, Tio Pepe Restaurante has the best tenderloin, shrimp and garlic, potato puffs and pine nut cake.  Don't leave Baltimore without trying a Maryland crab cake or steamed crabs (not from Phillips crab house but from a local crab house)

The Helmand.  Afghan food.  Delicious.  Go early or make  a reservation.

You must have crab cake while in Maryland.  East coast crabs and west coast crabs are two different animals.  You could try G&M in a suburb south of Baltimore City and near the BWI airport: 804 N. Hammonds Ferry Road, Linthicum Heights, MD.  Very casual place.

Food truck next to Johns Hopkins University Hospital: Dawson Ted MD, University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  Great fast food on week days for lunch and early dinner.  Choice of lamb, chicken or beef and rice.  Ask for mild and the white sauce.

Birroteca Baltimore. Farm to table artisan pizza and Italian inspired foods with local ingredients.  Craft beer. Wonderful.  Use directions because it's hidden underneath an expressway.

Hope you enjoy Baltimore.

Check out Woodberry Kitchen kitchen for sure. Their sister site Artifact Coffee is a fantastic little coffee shop. If you like coffee check out Atwater's Belvedere Square Market in the Belvedere Square Market. Also in the Belvedere market please check out EJJI Ramen ramen - their soup is perfection. Lots of other fun little shops there depending on your tastes. Tortilleria Sinaloa in Fells Point has fantastic tacos. If you like baked goods, Bonaparte Breads also in Fells point is good. The Helmand in Mt. Vernon has fantastic Afghani food. Also in Mt. Vernon - Indigma for Indian food and Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant for Ethipian food. For a bar-type scene, The Brewer's Art in Mt. Vernon makes their own beer and has good food as well. And I haven't been yet but Café Cito in Hampden is supposed to be excellent. Baltimore has amazing food for a city its size :) have fun!

Most restaurants in Fells Point on Thames St are great! I few favorites in that area: Mezze (Mediterranean tapas), The Red Star Bar & Grill (american), and Sticky Rice or RA Sushi Bar Restaurant (sushi). But really, all of them are good.
